St. Louis, MO

Boarding the plane with Princess (the bear)

Cousin Emily's wedding was the perfect opportunity to visit with family and explore a new city...

St. Louis!

Emily and her new husband Kyle (who we love!!) were married in a beautiful cathedral downtown.  Cousin Jeannie and Rachel were bridesmaids, and cousins Charlie and Grant were ushers.  The ceremony was lovely, and the reception was great fun.

We had the chance to meet Emily's horse (Haylee was very excited!), see their newly purchased home out in the country, and go for a refreshing swim in the backyard.

There were four new family members to meet during our trip - Kyle (Emily's husband), Courtney (Charlie's wife), little Max (Jeannie and Ben's son) and baby Gwynevere (Grant and Catie's daughter).  Max took to Haylee immediately, and the two of them could be found playing and laughing at any given moment!

After the wedding Andrew and Rachel went out to explore the city.  We went up into the St. Louis Arch in tiny egg shaped capsules on a revolving belt to see the great view.

While in the capsule, a family recommended that we check out the "amazing" City Museum.  They offered us their admission bracelets, so we decided we needed to go see what it was all about.  Sure enough, it was completely amazing!  There was a 10 story spiral slide, secret passageways everywhere, wire tunnels suspended over 50 feet high to climb through, tiny tubes to crawl through, and airplanes and forts secured high above the ground!  We had a blast!

The next day we took Haylee to Six Flags and the adjacent water park.  There were several huge roller coasters there including ones that went upside down, were wooden, and soaked you with water.  It was a very hot day, so it was perfect for getting wet.

Thank you for the fun and adventure Emily, Kyle, and St. Louis!

Hiking Shellrock Lake

Shellrock Lake on a Sunday morning.

We were hoping for weather warm enough to allow for swimming in the beautiful, shallow Mt. Hood lake.

Unfortunately, it was quite overcast and actually began to rain on us.

Nevertheless, we had a lovely hike and a fun day!

Blu's New Leg

After months of wearing a prosthetic that was getting much too small for our growing boy, Blu was fitted for a new leg at Shriners!

He hand picked a great solar system patterned fabric, and viola, a fancy planet covered leg was made!

Blu endured multiple fittings and adjustments to get his leg just right inside and out.

Now he is all set, and with the help of this new leg, the brace for his other leg and a walker, he is learning to walk!
