Blu Turns 4!

Blu's 4th birthday was cause for a fun celebration! 

Bing Bong hosted a great party, with lots of yummy food and activities. 

Besides Daddy, Rachel, and Bing Bong - Papa, Grammy, Pappap, Grandma Kate, Uncle Cole, Auntie Jaz, and cousins Malcolm and Margot were all there to celebrate with us. 

Blu had a great day full of swimming, playing with new toys, spraying the hose (one of his favorite things to do!), and visiting with relatives. 

Thanks to everyone that came to share Blu's special day with him!

Backpacking the OR Coast

Andrew led us on a fabulous backpacking adventure from Canon Beach to Neahkahnie Mountain.  

Our journey started right on the shoreline.  Tide pools and barnacle covered boulders lined our route. 

At one point we came upon an old house that had fallen partially down the cliff side.  

Amazing rock textures and sea creatures were abundant.  

Just before our trail led us up to the mountains, we ran into an obstacle with the tide.  Not to worry, we simply bushwhacked up around the cliff and around the blocked trail.  

That wasn't our only obstacle, but nothing slowed us down much, including my blistered feet.  Ouch!

We made camp up on the mountainside and enjoyed a yummy lasagna dinner made by Chef Andrew! 

The views along our way were glorious, and we took advantage of several side trips.
 

When we reached the end of our journey we loaded up the truck and drove into Rockaway Beach.  

What a great journey!
